Who is 'In Confidence?’
Ko wai au? Kia ora e hoa, my name is Zac. Ki te taha o tōku matua, Scotland. Ki te taha o tōku whaea, Norway. Te Whau is home to me now. My parents met here in Avondale and now it’s where i do life. I’ve spent most my adult life working with both youth and adults as an educator/ facilitator/ consultant within the public and private sector. It’s with the knowledge i hold that i can help you find fulfillment in the relationships that matter most to you. I take a change-theory, person-centered approach and specialise in group work.
Nā reira, Why Father Time? The young people in our lives have so much to teach us. They hold a mirror for us to see ourselves in an honest light. It was from working with youth that i recognised how parental figures are the key determinant on healthy outcomes for a young person, partilcularly as they begin to form their own relationships. Father Time as a program was designed with the recognition that we, as adults, also need support and coaching through new challenges and stages of life, like fatherhood.
My work has pinpointed a common ground we stand on as men - our desire to meet our own expectation of what it means to be a good man and a good dad as well as the need be known and understood by other men. Father Time provides a space to listen, share, and problem solve in confidence within a group of dads.
