assisting the victims of rape and sexual abuse
inconfidence.org is a voluntary organisation which provides online,
interactive help and support to the victims of rape and sexual abuse. Help and
support are available in several ways:
- Online support forums.
To ensure your privacy and safety all postings are anonymous;
- By describing the help and support
that you can expect from the professional support services;
- By providing a definition of rape
and some of the other terms used to describe sexual abuse;
- Through inviting you to participate in an anonymous survey
so that the efficacy of the current UK legislation and support services can
be assessed;
- Through links to other websites
providing support to the victims of rape and sexual abuse.

researching the effects of rape and sexual abuse
If you have survived a sexual assault, you might wish to contribute to the
research being carried out by inconfidence.org. We invite you to participate
in an anonymous survey which seeks information about the circumstances of the
assault.
Our research is being carried out so that a more realistic figure of the number
of sexual assaults that are carried out within the UK may be reached with regard
to the actual number of rapes and sexual assaults that are officially recorded.
The results of the research will be published and it is hoped that this data will
be of use to the various institutions who may be influential on UK policy making in
this area...
