researching the effects of rape and sexual abuse
If you have survived a sexual assault, you might wish to contribute to the
research being carried out by inconfidence.org. We invite you to participate
in an anonymous survey which seeks information about the circumstances of the
assault.
The information obtained will provide vital information particularly with respect to
assaults, which might not have been reported to the police or other organizations. At
the moment, we can only guess the number of unreported sexual assaults but it is
generally agreed that the number could be as high as 90 per cent of all sexual
assaults.
We would strongly encourage everbody who uses this website to take a few minutes to give
as much information as they can. The information given may make it possible to identify
serial sexual predators who are operating in a particular way and in a particular area.
This information may also enable people, who appear to share similar experiences, to be
put in contact with each other, via this website. It is hoped that this will decrease a
sense of isolation, and may also be the first step towards tracing and convicting the
perpetrator/s.
All information is treated with strict confidentiality and will only be accessed by our
research associate unless otherwise agreed.
